White label SEO is something that many SEOs offer, but very few actually should! The fact is that when it comes to any kind of SEO, there is a small percentage of people that actually claim to be good at it that actually are. And with so many ways to manipulate screenshots or images to make people look like something they’re not, it’s tough to know who to trust.

Let’s back up a minute because not everyone knows what White Label SEO actually is. A lot of marketing agencies offer SEO services to clients, but hire some or all of that work out to other agencies. That agency will then white label it so that the agency that sold the SEO package can brand it like they did the work. This is done a LOT more than you may think. In fact, it would probably shock you to know how much this is actually done in the SEO world.

The problem is that when it comes to SEO and specifically white label services, you are trusting your clients’ websites to the level of knowledge and ability of another agency. It is not that agency’s reputation on the line, it is yours. So if they are typical SEO dogs with all bark and no bite, it ends up making you look bad.

So how do you know if you should trust someone to handle White Lable SEO for your agency?

Well, the first thing you should do is see what the agency offering white label has to offer. Vet them out. You may not be a savant when it comes to SEO, but if you are selling SEO services you should at least be able to know whether or not someone is actually competent in the subject.

If you’ve been in the industry for more than a couple of hours, you should also have a pretty good idea that someone promising you solid SEO results for $99 is probably someone you should run away from. In a hurry.

But more than that, you should know exactly what you’re getting. Or you should know what you’re looking for before you even think about getting someone to do your SEO for your clients. Maybe you want to have someone do certain aspects of an SEO campaign.

Maybe you don’t like the technical side of SEO and would rather have someone else do that.

Maybe you don’t like the tedious process of building links.

Maybe you don’t like to do deep dives into your clients’ competitors and get reports on what they are doing so you know the benchmarks that you need to beat.

Maybe you don’t like to do correlation reports for the intricacies of on-page SEO to know exactly how to structure each page to better position your clients’ pages for optimum results.

Or maybe you’re just not that great at SEO, but you’re good at selling. There are a lot of those out there that just sell SEO services all day long but don’t know how to actually deliver. This is actually a large number of people, but the problem is that they still try to do one of two things. They either convince themselves that they are good at SEO and have an excuse for every failed client story that they work on. Or they trust a bogus white label SEO service who is just good at selling white label services and not actually good at SEO.

I can’t stress enough the importance of knowing what the heck you are getting into. If you think something is probably too good to be true….guess what…

Things to look for in White Label SEO Service Providers

So I know that we said earlier that it is extremely easy to fake results with screenshots and fake testimonials. So here are a few things you do want to look for when you are trusting a white label partner.

Does the white label SEO actually rank their own site?

This is one if the quickest ways to tell if an SEO is a phony or if they are the real deal. This goes for both white label SEO as well as regular agencies. Do they rank for SEO terms themselves?

One of the greatest things about SEO, and my personal favorite aspect of it, is the competition. Not only the competition but the fact that everyone gets to see the scoreboard at all times. Look, every SEO in the world will try to rank their own site. There is no better testimonial than to tell potential clients that you are ranking for SEO terms and beating out everyone else that is trying to rank for those same SEO keywords.

So one of the first things you should do is see what keywords the white label provider is ranking for. If they are not ranking for anything significant, then that should tell you that they are just salesmen trying to doop you.

Don’t let them do it!

What are the exact services the white label SEO will be performing?

Another key factor when it comes to hiring a white label SEO is knowing exactly what tasks they perform. As I said before, you are a marketer…even if you stink at SEO, you should know enough to know whether you are dealing with the real deal or a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

If the white label provider is not intricately describing the tasks and deliverables that they are offering…they are not the ones for you.

You want to know exactly what the hell your clients’ websites are going to be getting.

There are a few reasons for this…

First, you want to make sure that your clients are getting good services. After all, they are going to be thinking this is your work. It’s like copying in high school. You didn’t copy off the dumb jock that sat in the back of the room. You buddied up with one of the smart kids in class and looked at their paper. Same thing here. Your clients deserve the smart kid work.

Secondly, you are going to get questions about the work. You want to be able to know the answer and explain what is going on with your clients’ campaigns. You don’t want to deliver masterfully crafted reports and have your clients ask a question and you have no clue what any of it means.

So you have to know precisely what is going to be delivered.

Common white label SEO deliverables:

  • Technical SEO Audits & Work
  • On-Page Correlation Reports & Work
  • Keyword Research
  • Competitor Analysis
  • Content Research & Writing
  • Link Building
  • Branding Work
  • Traffic Campaigns

What we offer with our White Label SEO service

So we have done quite a bit of white label SEO work and we operate a little differently. We found that it’s much easier to offer different deliverables. This way the agency that hires us can pick and choose the work they want us to do for them.

Of course, we do offer regular white label services as well. But we have found that a lot of agencies still like to do some of their own work. They also like to cut corners to save on costs and that is something that we refuse to do. So a lot of times we do all of the technical aspects of an SEO campaign, but the link building and more costly items are something that they do on their own. Let’s face it…people still think they can get results from the same list of links that are passed around to every SEO on LinkedIn.

Our Private Label SEO Deliverables

Technical Website Analysis

This is a complete crawl of every page on the site. It crosswalks each page on the website with vital SEO data including: Links data, keyword rankings, traffic, conversions/revenue, word count, page title, SERP impressions, SERP CTR, and more.

Analyzes the performance of each page on your website (in regards to “quality”)

Most importantly, it helps us make a decision about what to do with every page on a site.

These actions may help to clean up (“prune”) low-value pages, add SEO directives (NOINDEX, canonical, etc.), or perform more SEO actions (KW research, on-page, acquire links, etc.).

On-Page SEO Work

We correlate your clients’ pages with their competitors who are getting better results to see where the gaps are and go in and patch them up.

Keyword Gap analysis – See what keywords their competitors are targeting that may be missing in your client’s strategy.

We make all of the on-page changes that need to be corrected in order to get better results including: Changing Titles, Tags, KWs, Content, etc. as well as adding content.

Content Strategy

We map out plans to add content to the site. We will outline multiple pieces of new content per month to target KWs that we can’t target with the existing content on the site.

We then write the content once the ideas are approved by you.

This content will all be Professionally written, SEO friendly, and have some element of conversion.

Off-Page SEO Analysis

We spy on your clients’ competition to see what they are doing with their off-page efforts to better understand how they are getting results so we can emulate them moving forward.

We will provide a list of all competitor links including the following info:

  • Target page URL
  • Anchor text used
  • Authority of linking page
  • Rankings of linking page
  • On-page info of linking page

Link Building

We manually outreach for links that are relevant to your clients’ niche.

We only get links that are from proven websites that have great metrics, are relevant, and have traffic.

We write the content on these sites and control the links for Relevance, Anchor text control, Target URL, etc.

We provide secondary links to build these links up.

We share these links to entice more traffic.

These are all the main deliverables for our White LAbel SEO service. Of course, we can always offer more and get into more detail. But these are the main things that we get hired to do most often.

By far the most popular deliverable is the Technical Website Analysis because it is so detailed and really springboards a campaign from the very get-go. It is incredibly detailed and takes a significant amount of man-hours to complete. But once you have this done, you are able to map out your entire campaign with educated decisions based on actual data. So you’re not going around the site and guessing at what you should do. You have a plan of action that you can use to execute and get amazing results.

The Technical Website Analysis is actually the first thing we do for new clients that we bring into our agency and it is a vital step in every campaign. It’s something that must be done in order for us to move forward.
